Similarly, it has been informed that the operation of metro trains will be extended by an additional 90 minutes during the night hours of match days to ensure safe return of cricket fans.
Also, it has been announced that IPL matches will be telecasted in 5 metro stations in Chennai. Chennai Super Kings Team Management along with Metro Rail Management is involved in these initiatives and will telecast on LED screens at Vada Palani, Central, Tirumangalam, Vimco Nagar, Nandanam Railway Stations. There is no separate charge for watching the matches and normal metro travel and stay at railway stations is Rs 10 per 1 hour. It has also been announced that it will be collected.
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) and the management of Chennai Super Kings have joined forces to provide convenient travel for IPL and CSK fans on all match days in Chennai during the months of April and May. IPL and CSK fans have been provided with free return journey on metro train using QR Code admission tickets for IPL matches. Additionally, a bus service will also be provided from the metro station to the Chepakkam stadium where the match will be held.
