“On April 25 i museums will be free. I added to the free Sundays, in fact, three symbolic dates: 25 April, 2 June and 4 November“. Said the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, guest this evening of the ‘Five Minutes’ broadcast hosted by Bruno Vespa. As for entrances during the holidays, and to remedy critical issues with the staff, the minister said that “we think we will charge a little more during these holidays, such as Easter Monday or August 15th, and then we will give the staff that extra amount we have received. We will give it to them because it is right that work on holidays should be paid more”.

A reflection, that of the holder of the dicastery in via del Collegio Romano, which comes after the boom in visitors to Italian museums at Easter and Easter Monday. Sangiuliano recalled the fact that there was “a bit of controversy because we have adjusted the prices of some museum entrances” underlining that however “the public has increased because beautiful things are paid for and people are willing to pay for them”.

Lastly, Sangiuliano recalled that for paid admission to the Pantheon in Rome from next July “we did it with the Curia of Rome. A part of the proceeds will go to finance charitable works in favor of the poor in the city of Rome. We will charge a modest price of 5 euros except for all the categories for which we do not already charge the ticket”.
