The measure lapses but with limitations, for the textile sector another 17 weeks of Covid cash

Ansa / CorriereTv

Stop the blocking of layoffs: from 1 July the measure lapses, but the government will insert limitations to soften the transition. On 30 June the provision of the Support Decree which prevents the dismissal of those who use the cash expires. The government will extend the ban on firing until 31 October for the textile sector and related ones with a decree law. These sectors will be able to take advantage, from 1 July, of another 17 weeks of free Covid layoffs. Companies in crisis in other sectors will be able to resort to another 13 weeks of free cash, as long as they do not lay off. In the manufacturing and construction industries it will be possible to proceed with dismissal for justified objective reasons.
