Freezing settlement: Yesha Council in a campaign to overthrow the Bennett government

by time news

Against the background of the construction freeze in Judea and Samaria: The Yesha Council will launch tomorrow (Sunday) an unprecedented campaign calling for the overthrow of the government.

According to a report by Amit Segal in News 12, as part of the devaluation of the campaign, the heads of the authorities from Judea and Samaria will arrive tomorrow for a statement and declaration of a struggle against the freeze – in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.

For 15 years, the Yesha Council has not launched such a campaign, against the background of what they define: “freezing and demolition on an unprecedented scale.”

When they say “freeze” – they mean that only one plan has been approved since the government was formed. “Demolition” refers to photos from the evacuation of the outposts.

The campaign is interesting in two respects: The first is the symbolic one – Bennett himself is the former director general of the Yesha Council, who at the time fought against the freeze, now the council says he can no longer hide behind Bnei Gantz.

The second aspect is that the current chairman of the Yesha Council, David Elhayeni, is a member of the New Hope party, who came out very sharply against Netanyahu and his annexation plan, two years ago.

According to Segal, his and his comrades’ campaign against the government, which will gain momentum, is quite significant.
