The volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor) increased by 65% ​​in the first half of 2024.

This was reported by Day.Az with reference to information from the press service of the government of Kazakhstan.

“From January to June, the volume of transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route increased by 65%, amounting to 2.1 million tons,” the information says.

Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport Satzhan Ablaliyev previously reported that the volume of transportation along the TITR is planned to increase to 4.2 million tons in 2024.

In 2023, cargo transportation along the TMTM increased by 65% ​​compared to 2022 and amounted to 2.7 million tons (2022 – 1.7 million tons).

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the “Middle Corridor”, is an international transport route that runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Turkey and European countries. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is part of the corridor.
