The French Football Federation revealed, on Wednesday, its final position on the departure of Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, after the team bid farewell to the European Nations Cup “Euro 2024”.
“We had a positive tournament overall, despite the bitterness of the exit and defeat against Spain,” French Football Federation President Philippe Diallo told French newspaper L’Equipe, commenting on Deschamps’ position.
He added, “Deschamps will continue until at least the 2026 World Cup finals. He has a contract with us, and he achieved our goal in Euro 2024, which was to reach the semi-finals.”
He added, “Deschamps’ journey as coach of the French national team is very ideal. He achieved more than one championship and the team appeared with him in the best possible form during Euro 2024.”
“I don’t see any reason to talk about Deschamps’ future with France. The previous results he achieved with us speak for themselves. He has always achieved our goals, and he will continue his journey with us,” he added.
