“On the occasion of the presentation of the draft budget for 2024, I will give the new growth prospects for 2023 and 2024. From there, I will make proposals to the President of the Republic on the rate of tax reduction”, explained the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire last weekend, on LCI, on the sidelines of the economic meetings in Aix-en-Provence.

In a less favorable environment with, in particular, the entry into technical recession in the euro zone this winter, French growth remains very slightly positive. The Banque de France confirmed on Monday that it expected a modest increase of 0.1% in GDP in the second quarter – like INSEE – after +0.2% between January and March. A figure “in line” with its growth forecast of 0.7% for the institution this year. That is 0.3 points less than Bercy’s objective, which is based on 1%.
