ParisSpain’s Rafael Nadal advanced to the semifinals of the French Open after beating Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
World number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia will face world number five Rafael Nadal of Spain in the men’s singles quarterfinals of the series in Paris. The match lasted 4 hours and 12 minutes, with 13-time champion Rafael Nadal winning the set 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) to advance to the semifinals for the 15th time.
The match between Nadal and Djokovic started at 9.02pm French time on the 31st and ended at 1.16am on June 1st. This is Nadal’s 8th win against Djokovic at the French Open. Rafael Nadal clashes with world number 3 Alexander Schweire of Germany in the semi-finals.
Rafael Nadal says, “Playing against Djokovic has always been a challenge. There is only one way to win against him. We have to play well from the first point to the last. ”
Sania failed
In the third round of the women’s doubles, India’s Sania Mirza and Czech Republic’s Lucy Hrudeka played against Coca-Cola and Jessica Bekula of the United States. The Sania Mirza pair lost 4-6, 3-6 in straight sets.
