A new day rich in emotions and medals for the French Paralympic team, Monday, September 2. Five gold medals were won in a single day by the French delegation, just one less than in the entirety of the first four days of competition. The harvest began early with victories in triathlon by Alexis Hanquinquant and Jules Ribstein, followed by Aurélie Aubert’s win in boccia, and later in the afternoon by Lucas Mazur’s victory in badminton, before Charles Noakes added to the tally late in the evening.

A fireworks display of medals for French paratriathlon. Jules Ribstein opened the beautiful harvest for France by winning the paralympic gold in the PTS2 category, reserved for severe physical disabilities. Alexis Hanquinquant retained his title, won in Tokyo in 2021, in the PTS4 category. Finally, Thibaut Rigaudeau and Antoine Perel returned with silver and bronze in the PTVI category, which is open to athletes with visual impairments.

Three podium finishes including two titles in parabadminton. The French duo Lucas Mazur-Faustine Noël won bronze in parabadminton (SL3-SU5 category) by defeating the Thai pair Siripong Teamarrom and Nipada Seansupa in two sets, early in the day. Clearly not satisfied, Lucas Mazur brilliantly secured victory in the afternoon final of the SL4 category. By the end of the evening, after a delay due to a technical issue, Charles Noakes finished making the Arena Porte de la Chapelle roar with joy, bringing a second title to French badminton.

A historic victory in boccia. Aurélie Aubert became the first French medallist in boccia at the Paralympic Games, choosing the finest metal to open the French collection. The pioneer, ranked 16th in the world, achieved the remarkable feat of defeating Singaporean Yee Ting Jeralyn Tan (ranked #2) in the final, after already overcoming Yuriko Fujii (ranked #7) and Yushae Desilva-Andrade (ranked #4) in the quarterfinals and semifinals. A golden journey.
