French Parliamentary Election: First Round – NEWS 360 – WORLD

by time news

Paris: The first round of voting in the French parliamentary elections took place yesterday. Voting took place yesterday in the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament. The results, which started late last night, are now officially known today. The second phase will take place on June 19.

With a simple majority of 25% of the vote in the first round, the candidate is declared the winner of the constituency. Otherwise, the election will be held in the second round. This election will be crucial for President Emmanuel Macron, who has returned to power in the country. Currently, Macron’s party and allies have 345 seats out of 577.

If Macron’s alliance fails to maintain a majority, it may be forced to form alliances with other parties. This could lead to the removal of some members from the recently reorganized cabinet following the presidential election.
