It is noted that Zemmur, accompanied by guards and journalists, was moving to the podium, at that time a man who ran out of the group of spectators attacked him. Putting his hands around the candidate’s head, the man tried to knock him to the ground. Thanks to the intervention of security agents, the attacker was successfully neutralized. He was taken into custody for willful violence.

In addition, the guards and supporters of Zemmur fought with activists of the SOS Racisme association. According to the TV channel, 12 protesters started shouting the slogan “No to racism!”, Which provoked a conflict. As a result, the members of the association left the event.

On November 30, Eric Zemmour announced that he would be running for the presidency of France. The journalist is a supporter of extreme right-wing political views and advocates the return of migrants to their home countries: for example, he called for the expulsion of 2 million foreigners. Zemmur was twice found guilty of inciting racial and sectarian hatred.
