This Tuesday, the Blues end this international sequence with a friendly match in Lille, against Scotland, after having won qualification this Friday against the Netherlands (1-2). For this meeting, the national coach, Didier Deschamps, will rotate. Eduardo Camavinga, the Real Madrid midfielder, who also plays as left back, should start. He was at a press conference this Sunday from the Luchin estate where the A’s are based.

How do you judge this qualifying campaign?

EDUARDO CAMAVINGA. We started this group stage well, we won all our matches. The most important thing is to continue this momentum. It’s an honor to finish this stage well, the qualifying phase. You have to win all the other matches. It’s been a long time since France qualified so quickly. We will take things step by step. We will be keen to finish this phase very very calmly and then we will focus on the Euro

Are you satisfied with your playing time?

Whether in a friendly match or in a high-stakes match, the most important thing is to give your best. So I’m going to play the same, as I usually do. I’m going to show what I’m capable of. There are players who are starters in this team and I try every time I go on the pitch to show the coach that I deserve more playing time. I have to respect the coach’s choices but I have to work, work to show him that I deserve more playing time.

You often play as a left back in Blue like at Real Madrid. Do you enjoy this position?

I think everyone knows, it’s no secret, I don’t particularly like this position. I had a discussion with the coach about this. As I am a team player, I go there, even if it doesn’t feel good, because someone had to be there. We don’t always have what we want, so you have to know how to make allowances and put your desires aside to help the team. It’s a position that I didn’t necessarily know about. But by playing it, I picked up certain points. There is no problem of adaptation.

During the minute of silence before Netherlands – France, Jean-Clair Todibo smiled. What happened ?

Jean-Clair is a good person, the thing was simply misinterpreted.

How do you react to the death of the French teacher in Arras?

It’s sad. Plus, it happened in a school. A teacher was killed but it could have been a member of our families, of our entourage. The only thing I can do is send my condolences to his family.
