French willingness to support the plan to teach French in Libyan schools

The French Ambassador to Libya, Ambassador Mustafa Maharaj, expressed his country’s readiness to support the Ministry of Education’s plan to include French language education in the curricula in Libya as an optional language.

In his meeting with the Minister of Education, Musa al-Maqrif, in Tripoli, Maharaj pointed out the importance of cooperation between the Libyan and French sides in the educational field, supporting the ministry with training programs, and contributing to the preparation of the vocabulary of the French curriculum.

For its part, the Ministry of Education confirmed that the inclusion of foreign languages ​​in the study plan comes as part of the ministry’s endeavor to develop the education sector and expand students’ ideas on other cultures.
