Just a week after her grand slam in Evian, the 29-year-old Frenchwoman, fourth in the world, was crowned champion in Scotland.

Céline Boutier, the French golfer, achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Scottish Open in Ayrshire, on the LPGA Tour, just a week after clinching her first grand slam title in Évian. At 29, the native of Clamart, who finished second in this tournament last year, thus won her fifth title on the professional circuit. This victory confirms her as one of the best golfers and strengthens her position less than a year from the Paris Olympics.
Céline Boutier, 4th player in the world, had taken the lead of the tournament at the end of the third round disputed the day before.
A first place that she did not let go on Sunday afternoon to validate her double. She returned a card of 70, two strokes under par, and won with two strokes ahead of South Korean Kim Hyo-joo and three strokes over Chinese Ruoning Yin, who respectively brought in the last round a card of 65 and 66. During the last round, Boutier made four birdies, at the 6th, 9th, 13th and 17th holes.

Victories that follow
A victory in France a week ago, one in Scotland on Sunday, Céline Boutier continues to mark the history of French Golf. Before her success in Haute-Savoie, only Catherine Lacoste in 1967 and Patricia Meunier-Lebouc in 2003 had won in one of the major tournaments of the women’s circuit.
Before that, in March, the Francilienne had already made an impression by becoming, after her victory at the Drive On Championship in Arizona, the most successful Frenchwoman on the circuit ahead of Patricia Meunier-Lebouc and Anne-Marie Palli, with three titles. This fifth victory only widens this lead.

Turning professional in 2016 after being world number one amateur in 2014, Céline Boutier was also part of the European team that won the Solheim Cup twice, the women’s equivalent of the Ryder Cup, in 2019 and 2021.
