Friday prayer for rain in Qatar; Amir will attend

Doha: A special prayer will be held on Friday for abundant rain in the country. It is known as Istiskha or rain prayer. Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will participate in the rain prayer. Rain prayer is held at 5.53 am. Rain prayer is performed following the Prophet’s practice. The Amir is also participating in prayers at the Al Wajba Palace prayer center along with the citizens.

The Ministry of Auqaf Islamic Affairs announced through a press release that although the main prayer will be held at the Al Wajba Palace prayer center, the rain prayer will also be held in mosques across the country.

The ministry also said that all the rituals that the believers should perform before the rain prayer, such as fasting, giving sadaqah, repenting to Allah, using the Miss Word, and cleaning the body, should be followed without interruption.

From old people to small children participate in the rain prayer. Most of the adults participating in the rain prayer are fasting. Fasting prayer is based on the saying of the Prophet that Allah does not reject the prayer of the fasting person. Believers participate in the rain prayer after fasting, giving alms, repenting to Allah, using the Miss Word, and cleaning the body.
