One year after the death of Porfirio Muñoz Ledoa great representative of the Mexican left, this Tuesday friends and family of the politician held a guard of honor and placed a floral offering at the Parque Olof Palmelocated in the mayor’s office Cuauhtémoc.

Lorena Munoz Ledodaughter of the politician, commented that the Mexico City Government will pay tribute to his father on July 23, but did not provide further information, given that details are still being finalized.
“(A tribute) is being planned for July 23, which would be his 91st birthday, for the Government of Mexico City. And at another time it will be done with the Chamber of Deputies“My father’s library was donated and a temporary exhibition will be held,” he commented.

For its part, Juana Ines Navarrete Martinezdaughter of Efigenia Martínezrecalled that one of the most remembered achievements of Munoz Ledowas the foundation of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD)a political force formed by Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas and his mother Efigenia.
“The founding of the PRD was partly his idea, and together with Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas and Efigenia Martínez they founded the party, but the idea, promoter and the one who wrote the bases was Porfirio Muñoz Ledo,” he recalled with nostalgia.
