From Brussels.. Al-Araji calls on countries to withdraw their citizens from the Syrian Al-Hol camp

National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji called on European Union countries on Tuesday to withdraw their citizens from the Syrian al-Hawl camp.

The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement received by the (INA): “National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji, reviewed in Brussels during his hosting at the NATO Council, which came at the invitation of the Italian Ambassador to the Alliance, Marco Peronacci, the paths of the government program in the field of foreign policy and the strategic priorities of Iraq, and the position on the events that the Middle East is going through.”
Al-Araji renewed “Iraq’s demand to the participants in the dialogue held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, who represent 32 countries, to withdraw their nationals from the Syrian Al-Hawl camp due to the great danger posed by the continued presence of this camp, in addition to continuing cooperation and partnership with NATO in the field of training Iraqi security forces and benefiting from the alliance’s expertise, but without any military or combat units.”
Meanwhile, representatives of NATO countries praised “Iraq’s continued cooperation in enhancing the security and stability of the region,” noting that “Iraq has made great strides in consolidating the foundations of its security and stability.”
They stressed “the importance of continuing this cooperation, in a way that serves the sustainability of security and stability at the regional and global levels.”
