The fact that Mikael Alphonse will not continue at Maccabi Haifa has been known for some time, but yesterday (Friday) the defender was introduced in his new team, Ajaccio, the newcomer to the senior league in France, who returned to the first league after being absent from it since 2014.

Alphonse came to Carmel from the second French league where he played for Amien, and recorded a total of only half a season in Israel after arriving in the winter transfer window. In total, Carmel recorded 18 appearances in which he failed to find the network, but of course won the state championship, which is the only title he has in the closet.

The Greens had an option on the player for another season but they chose not to exercise. The 32-year-old defender already has a past in the French top league, as he played there 28 times in the Dijon uniform in the 2018/19 season and even managed to score one goal and one touchdown.
