President Noboa Supplies Bulletproof Vests to Ecuadorian Police
On July 11, 2024, President Daniel Noboa Azin delivered over 11,000 bulletproof vests to the National Police in Durán, Ecuador. This action is part of the government’s ongoing fight against organized crime and drug trafficking.
“We fulfill our commitment to equip our security forces on this path towards peace in our country,” President Noboa stated.
Boosting Police Protection and Efficiency
The vests are part of a larger initiative to enhance the safety and efficiency of the police force. The government has already provided over 51,000 protective units to officers.
Commitment to Restoring Peace and Security
President Noboa emphasized his commitment to restoring peace and security throughout the country. He highlighted the efforts of law enforcement agencies in reducing violent deaths by 18% nationwide since January 2024.
“For decades, political groups allied with the mafias allowed violence and insecurity to escalate,” he said. “We will not allow that anymore.”

The President expressed his support for the police and reassured them of the government’s backing.
“Nothing will stop this process of transformation,” he said. ”And it will be the greatest legacy that we will leave to our future generations.”
