Date 2 – Cúcuta vs. Barranquilla
The points stayed home! Cúcuta beat Barranquilla 2-1 on date 2 of the BetPlay Tournament.
In the first half, Barranquilla started with a good game proposal to open the scoring. In fact, the visiting team had chances of scoring and even a goal. But the shout of celebration came with Barrera to go ahead on the scoreboard in the 18th minute.
This woke up the Cúcuta players who started from less to more to reach Suárez’s goal. The ‘motilón’ team had several options after some errors at the start of Barranquilla to gain confidence and generate more play. It was in the 45th minute and through a penalty that the tie came with the goal of William Parra.
During the second half, Cúcuta came out with a different air to look for the difference on the scoreboard and achieved it with Valentín Robaldo’s goal in the 49th minute after an error by goalkeeper Santander.
The match had several fouls and with this the central judge made decisions that changed the game scheme of the two teams. With the particularity of two expelled in Barranquilla: José Fernando Caicedo (58′) and goalkeeper Cristian Santander (68′). While for Cúcuta, Lucas Ríos also saw the red card (81′).
