These amendments to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Management, Environmental Protection Laws and Code of Administrative Misdemeanors submitted by the “libertarian” Kaspars Adomaitis were supported by 94 MPs, two were against and 18 abstained.

Distribution and sale of single-use plastic containers are generally prohibited at mass events and beach catering, but this ban will not apply if a deposit is charged.
It is planned that the fine for companies that do not comply with the insurance will be from 1 to 3 thousand. euros.
Such a violation, committed repeatedly, would cost 3-5 thousand. EUR fine, responsibility is also provided for company managers.
The fine will be from 30 to 60 euros for physical persons providing catering services that do not comply with the insurance, and from 100 to 200 euros for the managers of such companies.
