Several events will take place at the South Mato Grosso Maria Luíza ‘Estrelinha’ gymnasium in the coming months. Currently at MS Ginástica-GO, she will compete in national championships in artistic gymnastics. The main one will be in João Pessoa (PB), between 15 and 22 September.

The girl’s family, consisting of physiotherapists Glaucia Adania Santa Rosa, 42 years old, and Luiz Alexandre Paiva de Santa Rosa, 52 years old, are mobilizing to support their daughter.

Maria Luíza, competing in the pre-child category (9-10 years old), has already shown her ability by winning 3rd place in the individual general classification at the state championships held on August 10, as well as 1st place to get in the jump and fourth place on the ground. In addition, she collected 2nd place on the parallel bars and 4th place on the balance beam.

The young athlete is preparing for new challenges. Next week, she will compete in the Children’s State Championship, and from September 15 to 19, she will participate in the Brazilian Championship in João Pessoa, where she will face older athletes, in the age group 11- 12.

The 10-year-old athlete will also be in Aracaju (SE) from October 8 to 13th for another Brazilian Championship and will participate in the National Tournament in Palmas (TO), in November.

To make Maria Luíza’s participation possible and to cover travel and registration costs, Glaucia is looking for financial support from people.

To raise money, a raffle is taking place that includes prizes for Maria Luíza and her sister, Helena Adania de Santa Rosa, who is also an artist and will give a solo jazz performance at the Reverence Dance Festival in São Paulo, on the 21st . of September. Main Event – The 2024 Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championships will take place in João Pessoa (PB), at Ginásio O Ronaldão, from September 15 to September 22. The event will feature famous athletes, such as Rebeca Andrade, Olympic floor champion in Paris 2024, and other medalists, such as Flávia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Oliveira and Júlia Soares.

Arthur Nory, bronze medalist at Rio 2016 and participant in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will also be present. The competition will include women’s and men’s events in various age groups and methods, and admission is free to the public.
