Many stars who came to Tamil Nadu from Karnataka have achieved success in Tamil cinema. Superstar Rajinikanth sits on the first row of the list for more than four decades. Mysore-born Shivajirao Gaekwad was transformed into Rajinikanth on a colorful Holi day by director Sikaram K. Balachander. Mohan is another star who came to Tamil from Karnataka. It was Balachander who introduced Rajinikanth who should have introduced Mohan as a hero in Tamil. Balachander wanted to make the Telugu film Marosaritra in Tamil under the name ‘Alaigal Peshla Kavethi’ and signed Mohan for it. But Mohan could not act in it. Then Mohan made his debut as a hero in Mahendran’s Nenjathi Killathe. After that, the journeys did not end, Mohan shone as the Silver Jubilee hero in the eighties with Kungumachimil, Udaya Geetham and Mauna Ragam.
