The former ski racer Tina Weirather, known for her success in the Ski World Cup, has recently taken on a new role in her life – that of a mother. Last Sunday she gave birth to her son Lio, what a blessing for her and her husband Fabio Nay, a former SRF3 radio presenter, ushers in a joyful phase of his life. This event marks a notable turning point in Weirather’s life after she ended her successful ski career in 2020.

Weirather, who competed in a total of 222 World Cup races in her active career and celebrated nine victories, achieved great success, particularly in the Super-G. She became vice world champion in 2017 and won Olympic bronze in this discipline in 2018, as well as the small crystal ball twice. Her career was marked by impressive performances despite several injuries. After retiring, she moved to Swiss television, where she worked as an expert and co-commentator for the Women’s Ski World Cup. However, at the beginning of January she went on maternity leave.

The wedding with Nay took place in Malbun in September 2022 at the Hotel Gorfion, an intimate celebration led by Michael Schweizer and ending with brunch and live music. The couple, who have been together since 2017, announced their pregnancy last September with a humorous snapshot. Tina Weirather and Fabio Nay are now looking forward to starting this new chapter of their lives together.
