From today International Graphic Humor Biennial

More than 2,000 works by artists from some 50 countries will be exhibited in the 23rd edition of the International Biennial of Graphic Humor to be held from April 9 to the 12 in San Antonio de los Baños.

The Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) and the Museum of Humor del Ariguanabo, convened this Biennial since last January. The collaboration of the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Artemis is added, for being one of the most important events in the territory.

The main themes are female empowerment, patriarchal discrimination, gender violence and inclusive language and the motto that accompanies them is “Laugh at machismo seriously.”

Ivón Álvarez, Provincial Director of Culture, in an interview with Yosmara Martínez, a journalist from Artemisa, explained that the event will not only take place at the Museum of Humor.

“The Municipal Museum of History, the lobby of the Círculo de Artesanos and the House of Culture of San Antonio de los Baños are also extensive settings for this Biennial that, as usual, opens the popular festivals of the municipality,” he added.
