“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” is out in bookstores on May 9, a novel that accompanies the prequel to the TV series airing today on Netflix. In fact, the story takes us back to the origins of the whole narrative. The book is published by Mondadori and the authors are Julia Quinn and Shonda Rhimes. All while waiting for the next chapter represented by the third season of this worldwide TV phenomenon.
If Quin wrote the acclaimed series, Rhimes is the screenwriter and producer of other well-known ones, such as Grey’s anatomy and The rules of crime: together they collaborated on the writing of this spin-off and prequel of Bridgerton, from which they made a novel romantic about the great love between Queen Charlotte and King George III and how their story triggered a change in the society of the time.
The plot is set in 1761, when – on a sunny September day – a king and a princess meet for the first time and get married within a few hours.
