Autumn is ending in Belarus. Even in usually warm Brest, several centimeters of snow fell. And although not all residents have yet seen the harbinger of winter, weather forecasters have no doubt about one thing – the coming days will be frosty. What temperatures should we expect on November 19-21?
Weather forecast in Belarus for November 19-21
According to official data from Belhydromet, on Sunday, November 19, the weather in the country will be formed by “an area of high atmospheric pressure formed in a damp, cold air mass.”
In some places, experts predicted light snow and sleet, and light fog in some areas at night and in the morning. Additionally, some will experience light sleet and icy conditions.
The minimum air temperature at night is -1..-7°С, in the east up to -9°С, the maximum during the day is -4..+2°С.
On Monday, November 20, weather forecasters promised snow, sleet, rain during the day, as well as light fog and ice only in the southwest of Belarus.
The temperature at night should be -2..-9°C, in the northeast with clearings down to -12°C. During the day 0..-6°С; in the southwest at night 0..-1°С, during the day +1..+3°С.
And on Tuesday, November 21, snow and sleet were again forecast for the southwestern half, with rain in the southwestern regions, light fog and ice in places.
Air temperature at night -3..-10°C, with clearing up to -13°C, maximum during the day 0..-6°C; in the southwest at night 0..-2°С, during the day +1..+2°С.
“Winter mode will be established”
Meanwhile, in the telegram channel about weather in Belarus @nadvorie, with reference to numerical weather forecast models, they noted: “it looks like the frosty period will last at least until November 23.”
“These days, in a significant part of Belarus, the average daily air temperature will be below 0°, i.e. “winter weather conditions will set in,” they said.
At the same time, forecasters noted that the “coldest forecast” for Belarus was issued by the Canadian numerical model GEM. According to its data, on the night of November 21 to 22, “the air temperature will be -6..-10°, in the northeast of the Republic of Belarus – up to -15°.”
“Next night, in the morning in the east of the country, -20° is not excluded,” emphasized @nadvorie.
However, they emphasized that “the other models, both ECMWF and GFS, are much more restrained: they do not promise cold weather below -10..-12°.”
