The Federal Security Service (FSB) has developed a draft order, which proposes to give it the authority to request data on transactions from banks, tax authorities, Rosreestr and operators of information systems in which cryptocurrency is issued, as part of anti-corruption checks. The draft document was published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
“I order to empower the authorities to send inquiries to credit institutions, tax authorities of the Russian Federation, bodies that carry out state registration of rights to real estate and transactions with it, and operators of information systems in which digital financial assets are issued, when carrying out checks in order to counteract corruption, ”the document says.
Such powers are proposed to be given to the first deputy director of the FSB, the head of the border service, the head of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, the Secretary of State – Deputy Director of the FSB, the heads of the FSB services, the heads of the FSB departments in the army, certain regions and the border service.
The explanatory note states that from January 1, 2021, digital financial income must be entered into income statements. “In this regard, when carrying out anti-corruption checks, officials of the federal executive bodies are empowered to send requests to operators of information systems in which digital financial assets are issued,” the FSB noted.
