FSC Korea (CEO Seong-ok Kwon) will hold the ‘3rd FSC Business Forum’ at the InterContinental Seoul Parnas Orchid Hall on the 22nd. The theme of this year’s forum is ‘Initiatives for the Sustainable Development of Forests and Companies’, which highlights the role of companies and cooperation plans with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) to realize sustainable management.
For this forum, FSC International’s special envoy Kim Carstensen and Chief Market Officer Fabian Farkas will visit Korea. In addition, Örn Weissert, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Korea, and WWF Korea Secretary General Park Min-hye will attend to congratulate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of FSC.
In the FSC session connecting forests and markets, FSC introduces efforts to change the market with global companies such as Amazon and Pirelli to prevent deforestation and sustainably manage the world’s forests, and domestic and foreign companies promote corporate value through FSC. , we introduce various marketing examples of how to increase trust.
In the third session, which highlights FSC’s efforts to maximize positive impacts on the environment and socioeconomics, Moon Seong-hu, head of the ESG Center at One Law Firm, gave a presentation on the topic of ‘ESG and biodiversity protection,’ and Researcher Seol Mi-hyun of the National Institute of Forest Science presents eco-branding strategies based on FSC certification research and experience. Next, we will introduce the ecosystem service project for biodiversity conservation promoted jointly by WWF Korea and FSC Korea.
The final session will consist of a panel discussion on sustainability practices for business and forests. Tyler and Nidhi, who are active as FSC Korea forest guardians, explain the background and process of applying FSC certification to the newly launched Korean snacks, and Sensi, a FSC certified company and publisher of books using AI technology, and Syntheory, a brand goods manufacturer, Provides insight into sustainable business.
Lastly, we will present the first collection of recycled material clothing for forests produced in collaboration with V.Vissi, a fashion designer brand with a philosophy of sustainable symbiosis.
