Tax control in the field of card transfers between individuals (p2p transfers) must be accurate, not turning into “forays into the everyday business activity of citizens,” said the head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia, Daniil Yegorov.

“If you choose between cash and non-cash payments, then, of course, at the state level, it is precisely such a settlement system that is more interesting. [безналичных]… Therefore, when we talk about tax control in this area, it must be careful enough so that it does not turn into forays into household business activity, ”he said in an interview with RBC.

At the same time, Egorov confirmed that p2p transfers are in the focus of the Federal Tax Service. This area is of great value, as it is an alternative to cash payments, so now the tax authorities prefer to act with caution, the head of the department noted.

Earlier, on October 8, Kommersant reported that the Bank of Russia demanded that payment market participants provide it with data on their detection of withdrawal operations through p2p transfers by October 18. The regulator requested information on the limits and restrictions on such transactions, parameters of their monitoring, methods of identifying participants in money theft schemes (“droppers”) and payment control mechanisms.
