Fuel: soon an allowance for those who go to work by car, announces Bruno Le Maire

by time news

Faced with rising fuel prices, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire proposed on Monday the introduction of a new fuel allowance for all those who are obliged to use their car to go to work, but subject to income. . The government is working on “more generous compensation for all those who are forced to take their vehicle to go to work, once again whether they are employees, whether they are work-study”, said Mr. Le Maire on France Inter.

It would be paid “according to the level of income”, he added, without specifying the ceiling which could be fixed, leaving that to the parliamentary debate on the purchasing power package.

This aid would therefore go further than the compensation dedicated to “big riders”, that is to say who “do more than 12,000 km per year”, mentioned for a time by the government, because “there are plenty of people who do not travel 12,000 km a year, who take their car to go to work and who can no longer make ends meet,” explained the Mayor.

A discount of 18 centimes per liter of fuel has been applied at the pump for all motorists since April 1 to mitigate the impact of soaring oil prices, and the Purchasing Power Law will propose to extend it until the end of April. end of August. The Minister of the Economy has already proposed to the opposition to extend this aid until the end of the year.

Extended crisis exit plan for companies in difficulty

In addition, the support plan launched in mid-2021 to help companies in difficulty during the end of the health crisis will be extended, also announced the Minister of the Economy. “We will maintain the mission of Mr. (Gérard) Pfauwadel who is responsible for supporting entrepreneurs”, in particular those who are unable to repay their state-guaranteed loan (PGE) taken out during the health crisis, said Bruno Le Maire.

This support plan, which was to end at the end of June, provides support at the local level for companies in a situation of financial fragility to help them in their exchanges with their creditors to obtain an arrangement for the repayment of their loans or their taxes and contributions.

In addition to this mechanism, companies can have access to a “PGE Resilience”, launched after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and accessible until the end of the year. It allows them to borrow up to 15% of their turnover.
