Job description

In the assignment as an investigator, you must, by yourself or together with others, actively and committedly conduct collection missions/investigative work in a way that brings the police closer to the citizens and makes the police more accessible.

Preventive, interventional and investigative activities must be managed as a joint system that is constantly developed and improved. As an investigator at the fraud section, you handle criminal investigations of a financial nature under the guidance of preliminary investigation managers from the Police Authority or the Prosecutor’s Office. The investigative work itself includes holding interviews with plaintiffs, witnesses and suspects, obtaining relevant information, handling and securing evidence, presenting cases to the preliminary investigation manager/prosecutor and, when the investigation is complete, compiling it in a clear manner in a so-called preliminary investigation protocol. Many external contacts will be required such as contact with banks, loan institutions and more. A large part of the work involves collection missions and/or work with crimes against the welfare system.

As an investigator, in addition to the role of investigator, you are also the section’s resource for carrying out external investigative measures that are connected to the investigative activities themselves. It can e.g. be to execute decisions on detention, pick-up for questioning, house searches, on-site questioning, door knocking, etc. These duties are linked to your police powers.

You will be part of a group where everyone’s knowledge and opinions matter in a learning and developing environment. Fraud crimes are constantly evolving and part of the work involves being at the forefront and learning about new crime types and methods.

We want to recruit you who have ambition and the conditions to become one of the sharpest investigators the police can offer. You yourself are responsible for the interest, desire, commitment and the right personal qualities needed for this important position.

You will receive the introduction and guidance needed for the work tasks.

There may also be additional general police duties depending on the needs of the business.
