(ANSA) – PALERMO, 03 MAY – Over 174 million euros for interventions in favor of people with disabilities in Sicily. This is the amount of the programming of the fund for non-self-sufficiency approved by the regional council on the proposal of the social policies department. These are resources allocated by the national government on the basis of the three-year plans 2019-2021 and 2022-2024. The Sicilian Region makes this known.
For the 2020 year, 52.6 million euros were allocated to Sicily to be used for benefits, interventions and welfare services. In particular, almost three million (plus another 740 thousand euros of regional co-financing) will go to 37 territorial areas for interventions that can make people with disabilities independent in everyday life.
5 million will go to the Oasi Maria Santissima di Troina institute (to which is added another million euros from the regional fund). The rest will be divided into four tranches of 11,166,525 euros for the needs of adults and minors with serious and very serious disabilities.
Of the resources of approximately 55 million euros relating to 2021, a portion of 1,280,000 euros (plus 320 thousand co-financing) will go to 16 territorial areas for interventions regarding independent living. Another 5 million euros will go to the Troina Oasis (plus one million in co-financing). Furthermore, four tranches of 12,159,172 euros will be allocated to the needs of adults and minors with serious and very serious disabilities.
Finally, another 67.3 million euros are available for 2022.
With 1,200,000 euros, 15 inclusion projects will be financed, in as many territorial areas, for people with disabilities. With 1.6 million euros, the Single Access Points (Pua) will be strengthened with the hiring of 41 figures with social professionalism. Another 800 thousand euros will be used for staff training. Resources also in this year for the Troina Oasis: 5 million euros (of which four for the activity carried out by the hospitalization and treatment institute for the year 2022), plus one million in co-financing.
