Fund transfers: Oil majors under pressure in Gabon

DIG/ The oil majors operating on the national territory are currently under pressure.

According to media revelations Africa Intelligencethe president of the Transition, Brice-Clotaire Oligui Nguéma would have demanded from the experts of the Ministry of Oil and Hydrocarbons to ensure that transfers of funds from oil firms to the Public Treasury complied with the official account statements over the period 2020-2023.

The fifteen active oil companies including Pérenco, Assala Energy, Maurel& Prom, Total Energie EP Gabon each received this request on September 6, 2023 in the same letter.
