Fundalogy Unicaja and the Malaga University (UMA) have presented a new investment program that will facilitate access to financing for startups with a social impact and a university base. Fundalogy Unicaja is a company of the Unicaja Banking Foundation which invests and finances projects with a social, economic and environmental impact in Andalusia and Ciudad Real that are in their early stages of development and present difficulties in accessing financing.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fundalogy Unicaja, José M. Domínguez, and the Rector of the University of Málaga, José Ángel Narváez, have signed the collaboration agreement for the launch of this program that will promote university-based entrepreneurship.

Thus, Fundalogy Unicaja and the UMA have worked together on the design of the ‘Investment Program in startups with a social impact’, which contemplates a call with a temporary periodicity.

Through this project Fundalogy Unicaja continues to promote the social work of the Unicaja Banking Foundation, supporting entrepreneurial projects related to its strategic lines and with an impact in fields such as solidarity, science, environmental sustainability, education, culture and sports .

On the other hand, the new program allows the University of Malaga to improve its offer of services to the university community in terms of entrepreneurship, especially those related to financing.

The objective of the ‘Investment Program in startups with social impact’ is to promote entrepreneurial initiatives originating in the UMA that are based in Andalusia or Ciudad Real, and whose social impact is measurable in the following areas: social action, health and well-being, sustainability and the environment, education, cultural diffusion and the promotion of sport. In addition, they must contemplate the incorporation of elements of technological innovation and the existence of, at least, a viable product.

For the evaluation of the applications, criteria such as the affinity of the project with the aims and fields of action of the promoting institutions, the suitability of its team, its innovative nature, and its technical and financial viability, among others, will be taken into account.

The period for receiving applications is already open through the form available at the website of Link by UMA
