Israeli Military Buries Major General Ziv Dado, Whose Body Was Returned from Gaza

Crowds gathered today to lay to rest Major General Ziv Dado, a 36-year-old logistics foreman in Golani’s 51st Battalion, at the military section of the cemetery in Holon. Dado fell on October 7 and his body was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. His body was returned from Gaza in a military operation, during which Gal Meir Eisenkot and Eyal Meir Berkovich also fell.

His wife Stav paid tribute at the funeral, expressing the continuous nightmare she and her family had to endure since October 7 when Dado fell and his body was taken. She spoke of the difficulty in fighting to bring his body back and losing hope at points during the struggle. However, she now has some peace knowing that he has been laid to rest in Israel as he deserves.

Stav also spoke about Dado’s character, describing him as an amazing person who was always willing to help and who lived his life on the giving side. She emphasized his heroism and the impact he had as a husband and father to their daughter Mia.

Addressing her husband directly, Stav expressed her love for him and the pain of not being able to express it one last time. She vowed to raise Mia on their love and values of dedication, diligence, and free love, and asked for his strength and guidance from above.

The funeral was a solemn occasion, filled with tributes to a man who dedicated 18 years to the army. Dado’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the promise of his wife to raise their daughter in his honor. His memory will forever be cherished by those who loved him.
