BEIJING> A German journalist mocked Republic TV for breaking news with a funny picture he shared on Twitter. In response to media speculation that a military coup had taken place in China, the German news website’s Beijing correspondent Georg Farion shared a picture on Twitter.
A picture of a man pushing an old woman behind a bicycle was tweeted. The picture was shared with the caption, ‘More reinforcements for the subversives are arriving in armored vehicles’. Six pictures, including this one, were shared to show that people’s lives are normal in Beijing.
However, this footage was used by Republic TV to organize a debate called Military Coup in China. Noticing that his tweet made the news, George Farrion tweeted again: Two things have no end, the universe and human stupidity.
