Furious Father Takes His Daughter’s Case to Court After Doctor’s Negligence Leads to Severe Allergic Reaction
Ang Thong – A father in Ang Thong province has taken drastic action after his daughter suffered a severe allergic reaction due to a doctor’s negligence. The incident occurred at a clinic in downtown Ang Thong, where the doctor misdiagnosed the daughter, leading to the administration of the wrong medication.
Mr. Tawin Phingsungnern, a 54-year-old father, and his daughter, who we will refer to as Ms. Por, aged 25, visited the Muang Ang Thong Police Station today to file a report against the doctor. Accompanied by Pol. Capt. Kornthep Chantranapaporn, deputy investigative inspector at Muang Ang Thong Police Station, they presented evidence to support their claim.
The ordeal began when Ms. Por fell ill and sought medical treatment at the clinic in question. After a brief examination, the doctor diagnosed her with rheumatoid arthritis, prescribing injections and oral medications for at-home treatment. Despite initially showing signs of improvement, Ms. Por developed symptoms such as a red rash on her neck, legs, and hands, blurred vision, and nosebleeds.
Concerned about her deteriorating condition, Mr. Tawin took his daughter to a private hospital in Ang Thong Province, where the treating doctor identified her symptoms as an allergic reaction to the prescribed medication. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Mr. Tawin approached the doctor at the clinic to discuss the misdiagnosis, but the doctor refused to take responsibility for the allergic reaction.
According to Mr. Tawin, the incident occurred in April when Ms. Por visited the clinic while suffering from a fever. The doctor wrongfully diagnosed her with rheumatoid arthritis, leading to the administration of the incorrect medication. As her symptoms recurred and worsened, Ms. Por’s health deteriorated to the point of requiring hospitalization.
Despite the clinic’s denial of any wrongdoing, Mr. Tawin persisted in seeking justice for his daughter. He approached the doctor’s wife for an explanation, only to be told to report the incident and take legal action. Acting on this advice, Mr. Tawin filed a report at the police station. However, the police redirected him to the Ang Thong Provincial Public Health Office since it involved a private clinic.
Upon consulting with the Ang Thong Public Health Office, Mr. Tawin learned that the matter was a private dispute and should be settled between the victim and the clinic. Frustrated by the lack of resolution, he decided to bring attention to the issue by contacting the Trend Node program and filing a complaint.
Ms. Por, who experienced the full extent of the misdiagnosis and subsequent allergic reaction, expressed her desire for the doctor to apologize and take responsibility for the damages incurred. She emphasized the importance of thorough examination and proper medication dispensation to ensure patient safety.
As Mr. Tawin and his daughter pursue legal action against the doctor, this case raises concerns about medical malpractice and the potential dangers of misdiagnosis. It serves as a reminder for medical professionals to exercise caution and diligence in their diagnoses and treatments to avoid harm to patients.]
