/ The Futsal and Beach Football Committee of the Iraqi Football Association held its technical conference on Thursday to organize the Iraqi Professional Futsal League for Youth, in the presence of the Chairman of the Committee, Ali Abdul Hussein, his deputy, Ziad Shamel, and representatives of the participating clubs.

The clubs were divided into two groups: the first and second in the capital, Baghdad, the middle Euphrates group, and the southern group.

The draw resulted in confrontations between (Basra Oil and Basra Municipality, and Al-Shabab Al-Basri and its counterpart, Gas Al-Janub), and the matches of the first group for the capital, Baghdad, resulted in confrontations between (Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al-Wasat Refineries and Air Defense with the police), and the second group (Police Mechanisms with Nineveh and Baghdad Municipality with the Water Resources), and in the Middle Euphrates Group, Al-Wasat Oil will face its counterpart, Al-Sharqiya, while the Popular Mobilization Club is waiting.

The first and second place winners from the first and second groups of the capital Baghdad, and the first and second place winners from the southern group, with one team from the Middle Euphrates region qualifying for the final rounds.

It was agreed to select the best third team, in order to be among the teams qualified for the final rounds, so that their number would become (8) clubs, and February 10, 2024 was set as the date for the start of the league.

For his part, the head of the Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee, Ali Abdul Hussein, said during a short speech at the technical conference, to Shafak News Agency, that “the age groups are the basic pillar of the correct building process, because all the teams and clubs in the world do not look at the results as much as they seek how to build the young player in the age group league until reaching the first team.”

Abdul Hussein added: “The important thing is not to win the league, but rather how to reach the goal and the main purpose of holding a successful youth league. Competition remains a legitimate right for all participating teams, and through it we can discover the talented ones to support our league with a youth generation that will be the main pillar of the first line in our clubs.”
