LAMBARÉNÉ, December 15, 2024 (AGP) – A delegation from the Pension and Family Benefits fund for State Agents (CPPF), led by Jean Pierre Fleuri mbeng Edzang, director of family and social benefits, stayed this weekend end in Lambaréné, capital of the province of Moyen-Ogooué (Center), to raise public officials’ awareness of social benefits and control missions, noted the AGP.
After the usual courtesies paid to the governor of the province, Jean-Benoît Bekale, the delegation spoke with the local administrative authorities. The discussions focused on the various benefits offered by the CPPF, in particular old-age pensions and all family and social benefits provided to state agents.
These benefits include family allowances, the single salary allowance, the family support allowance, the back-to-school allowance, the prenatal allowance as well as the birth bonus.
The delegation also addressed the three priority missions of the CPPF for the current year, in particular the control of the effectiveness of life of retirees, the control of the effectiveness of the schooling of children beneficiaries of the allowance of start of the 2024-2025 school year, the collection of supporting documents for maintaining the right to family allowance for children over 16 years old.
At the end of the discussions, the participants expressed their satisfaction, claiming to have been better informed about the efforts made by the highest authorities in terms of social benefits provided to public officials.They also expressed the wish to see the CPPF’s communication and awareness-raising actions aimed at beneficiaries intensify.

We focused not only on informing them about the old-age pensions but also on the plethora of family and social benefits we provide.

Edzang: Certainly! The CPPF offers a range of benefits, including family allowances, a single salary allowance, family support, a back-to-school allowance, prenatal allowances, and birth bonuses. These benefits are designed to support public officials and their families financially and help them manage their responsibilities efficiently.

Edzang: We engaged in meaningful discussions with local administrative authorities regarding our priorities for the current year. This includes ensuring the effectiveness of life for our retirees, verifying the schooling of children benefiting from the school start allowance for the 2024-2025 academic year, and collecting necessary documentation for maintaining family allowances for children over 16. These measures help us ensure that benefits are sustainable and reach those in need.

Edzang: The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants indicated that they felt better informed about the efforts made by our authorities regarding social benefits for public officials. They expressed a desire for our communication and awareness-raising initiatives to expand, which indicates a strong need for continuous engagement.
Editor: Given your insights, what practical advice would you offer to public officials regarding their entitlements under CPPF?
Edzang: I urge public officials to stay informed about the benefits available to them and to actively engage with our office. it’s vital to ensure that the required documentation is submitted efficiently, especially for ongoing benefits like family allowances. By doing so, they can ensure they receive the support they need throughout their careers and into retirement.
Editor: Lastly, how do you envision the future of social benefits for state agents in Gabon?
Edzang: I believe that with continued awareness, effective communication, and a commitment to evaluating our programs, we can enhance the quality and reach of our social benefits. Our goal is to adapt these benefits to meet the evolving needs of public officials and their families, ensuring that they feel supported throughout their service to our nation.
