DIG/ The Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) announced, on Wednesday October 25, 2023, that from now on all contracts below 150 million FCFA will be exclusively reserved for Gabonese small and medium-sized businesses.

“From now on, public works contracts worth less than 150 million FCFA will be reserved for Gabonese small and medium-sized businesses,” indicated CTRI spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi.

Through this measure, the transitional authorities intend to boost Gabonese SMEs by offering them the opportunity to participate in the revival of the national economy and create more jobs.

It now remains to determine the conditions and criteria for access of these SMEs to public procurement. And to resolve a certain number of problems which have always penalized Gabonese SMEs.

This concerns, in particular late seed funds; pre-financing from own funds; bank prefinancing; long payment times (45 days on average) or even almost systematic collections.
