Gabon: Rail traffic in the red in the 1st quarter of 2023

DIG/ Rail transport activity fell back 10.2% at the end of the first quarter of 2023.

According to the Directorate General for the Economy and Fiscal Policy, this negative development is linked the impact of the traffic interruption that occurred from December 24, 2022.

Indeed, after four weeks of stopping, the first tests were carried out from January 19, 2023 and freight traffic normalized from February.

Regarding passenger traffic, it worked very little, during the first quarter, given the numerous technical incidents.
