Goncourt 2024 keeps the same judges as in 2023, but has changed the President. Philippe Claudel was appointed to this position in June, succeeding Didier Decoin, while Camille Laurens became secretary general.

In June, the Academie Goncourt even pushed back its age limit by five years, to 85, to allow all its members to be judges.

The 16 selected titles are also in competition for the Goncourt prize for high school students, awarded on November 28, and the Goncourt prize for prisoners, awarded on December 17.
