Gala of the Montreux Comedy Festival, on Canal +: Bérengère Krief makes her circus

by time news

It’s a place she knows well. “It was a springboard for me here. An unmissable event for French-speaking comedians every year in December, the Montreux Comedy Festival has already hosted Bérengère Krief three times. This year, the actress returns through the front door: it is she who presents the gala, this Wednesday evening on Canal + (8:55 p.m.), in the middle of a pretty audience of comedians: Baptiste Lecaplain, Kyan Khojandi, Arnaud Tsamère, the Coquettes, Laura Felpin…

For the occasion, many of the guest artists have concocted a new number around the circus with the mistress of ceremonies. A theme that did not come out of her hat by chance, in the continuity of her last and very pretty single-stage, “Love”, in which she notably performs an acrobatic hoop number.

“I wanted to add a bit of theatricality to stand-up,” she rewinds. With this show (nominated for the Molières in 2020), I was a little out of the classic circuit of humor. This gala, in Montreux, is a super cool way to come back. The circus theme is an extension of the show, but also a strong visual universe in which we could have fun. »

Launched thanks to the “Brief” series

Between the circus and “Love”, the link is obvious for her. “There are parallels: surpassing oneself, suffering, risk-taking…”, she lists. In Montreux, on her “Piste aux étoiles”, Bérengère Krief met old acquaintances. Kyan Khojandi, in particular, who put his foot in the stirrup in the early 2010s, giving him the role of Marla in “Brief”, his series that has become cult. “It was a turning point for me, there was a before and after in my life. It’s my Miss France election to me, ”she laughs.

Another important personality in her life present with her on stage this Wednesday evening: the comedian and TV man, Monsieur Poulpe. Her ex-fiancé, of whom she speaks in veiled words in “Love”. “We get along very well, we are quite proud of our post-breakup, it’s so much more pleasant to be at peace,” she smiles. He too decided to go on stage recently with a very original comedy show. “I am very proud of him. »

To see them accomplices, together, there is therefore a life after love. After “Love” also, her show that she will play at the Olympia (Paris IX) on February 14, before the last ones on March 31 and April 1 at the Trianon (XVIII). “There are already desires for other things that are beginning to arise,” she announces. A new show, surely. And why not write fiction. “Before, it seemed like an Everest to me. Not anymore. I really want to tell stories. »
