Defense Minister Yoav Galant discussed the threat posed by Hezbollah terrorists with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin.
The Pentagon press service reported this.
A statement from the office of Pentagon chief Austin said the parties discussed Israel’s response to the July 27 attack by militants from the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah in Majdal Shams, which killed 12 innocent children.
“They discussed the threats to Israel posed by a range of Iranian-backed terrorist groups, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Secretary Austin reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to Israel’s security and right to self-defense. They also discussed ongoing efforts to reach a diplomatic solution that will allow citizens on both sides of the Israeli-Lebanese border to return safely to their homes,” the statement said.
At the same time, the Israeli side has not yet released any information regarding this meeting.
Earlier, Cursor reported that Defense Minister Yoav Galant tweeted in English that the strike carried out on Tuesday evening, which resulted in the death of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr, demonstrates Israel’s determination to avenge attacks on its citizens.
In addition, Cursor has already reported that Defense Minister Yoav Galant visited the site of the tragic rocket attack in Majdal Shams and assured local leaders that the entire country supports them. Meanwhile, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said that the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah “crossed all red lines.”
