Galatsi Municipality Transforms Olympic Gym into Shelter for Fire-Affected Animals

The Municipality of Galatsi has made available the space of the Closed Olympic Gymnasium (PALAI) for the creation of a shelter for fire-affected animals.

Initiated by the Minister of Interior, Thodoros Livaniou, and the Special Secretariat for the Protection of Companion Animals.

156 fire-affected quadrupeds

There are already 156 quadrupeds being hosted there, and the municipality, in collaboration with Dog’s Voice and the Voluntary Action of Veterinarians of Greece (EDKE), has secured care for them, but there is also very strong participation and support from the local community.

The residents, as on other occasions in the past, are rushing to help in every possible way, either through voluntary work or by providing food and equipment.
