Galaxy S24 Ultra Camera Specifications: Rumored 24MP Image Resolution and Features Borrowed from iPhone 15

by time news

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to rival the latest iPhone’s camera capabilities, according to a recent leak. The phone, which is rumored to keep the same camera hardware as its predecessor, may still offer improved image and video quality with the help of improved processing and AI. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 Ultra may borrow a feature from Apple’s iPhone 15 series.

According to tipster Ahmed Qwaider, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will capture 24MP images, instead of the default 12MP. This higher image resolution could potentially offer more details and better image quality. The phone is also rumored to feature a Photo Remaster feature in the built-in image editor, as well as an ND Filter option in Expert RAW to adjust lighting while preserving colors.

If true, this new feature would be similar to a method used by Apple’s latest iPhone series, which uses its 48MP camera to capture images in a binned-down 12MP resolution and then combines it with 48MP images to merge them into a 24MP image. This method leaves more detail in images without significantly increasing file size.

In terms of camera specifications, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to feature a 200MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS. The phone is also said to be capable of offering 10x optical zoom-like image quality, thanks to its 5x optical zoom lens and in-sensor crop from its 50MP camera.

Overall, if the rumors are true, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s camera capabilities could offer users a good balance between detail and file size, potentially rivaling the latest iPhone’s camera performance. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S24 Ultra in the coming months, and many are eagerly anticipating the official announcement and confirmation of these exciting camera features.
