The board of the basketball administration will meet this Wednesday and decide whether to continue as usual with one team that is relegated or to freeze the one that is relegated because of Galil Ha’il, which lost its home because of the war.
Teams think that on the one hand the team from the north should be supported, but there is a problem of increasing to 15 teams next season in terms of the distribution of money and many games, as well as more teams that will share the Israeli players.
Also, if they go for 15 teams a season later they will have to drop back to 14 teams and this can be done if there is only one new league. The problem is that the national directorate has to agree to this.
On the eve of the meeting next week, opinions will be divided between the teams, and before the meeting the decision will be formulated, which can affect all the leagues.
