Theni – On the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, special pujas and abhishekam services were held in various temples in Theni district. The pujas started with a special yaga at Theni Periyakulam Road Pettachi Vinayagar Temple. Abhishekam was done to Vinayaka in 1008 liters of milk. Abhishekam was done with things like paneer, rice flour, sandalwood, curd. Ganesha appeared in special attire. Special pujas, abhishekam and alms were held at Selva Vinayagar Temple, Ganesa Ganda Perumal Temple, Vetri Kompan Temple, Allinagaram Vinayagar Temples near the Nehru statue. In many places of the city, the Hindu Front and Hindu Esurchi Front dedicated Vinayagar idols. Special Puja, Abhishekam and Deeparathana were performed to Lord Vinayaka. Honorary President Vadamalaiya Rajayapandian presided. Lord Ganesha graced the devotees in Santanakapa decoration. Pongal was given to the devotees.Bodi Arasamaratu Ganesha Temple, Kulalar Palayam Ganesha Temple. Special pooja, Abhishekam and Deeparathanams were held for Lord Vinayagar at Bodi Damappillaiyar Temple, Market Pettah Vinayagar Temple, Agrahara Vinayagar Temple, Amaravati Nagar Vinayagar Temple. Pongal was given to the devotees. On behalf of Bodi Nagar Hindu Peramuna, BJP, they put Ganesha idols in every house on the main road and engaged in special pujas.
Panneerselvam Swamy Darshanam
ADMK, Coordinator O Panneerselvam Swamy had darshan at the Periyakulam Varasidhi Vinayagar temple. A reception was given by the temple administration. A special puja was held at Guruvappallaiyar, Sangavinayagar temple with a custard. , Vinayagar Chaturthi Puja was held in offices and commercial establishments.- Ganapati Homam was performed using 1008 coconuts at Kaliyamman Navagraha Krishnan Temple in Munnar. After that, various special pujas and abhishekams were held in the temple. Pujas are going on near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on behalf of the auto drivers with the idol of Ganesha. Similarly, the Puja is going on with Vinayagar statue on behalf of the tourist car drivers.Elephant Feeding: There is an Ayyappan temple called Dharma Sastha under the control of Travancore Devasam Port at Devikulam near Munnar. The Ganesha Chaturthi festival was held very well there. After that, after a long interval, there was a program of giving food to the elephant called Yanai Ootu. A male elephant called Budhur Maheswaran was brought from Thrissur and given food. Special pujas and abhishekam were performed in the temple under the leadership of Melshanthi Rameshshanthi. In the evening, the Ganesha idol was taken in a procession and immersed in the river near Tishchalparai.
