Gangjin-gun supports incentives for travel agencies to attract group tourists. Starting January 13, Gangjin-gun will implement a large-scale incentive support policy to attract domestic and foreign tourists in 2025. This was designed to promote tourism and revitalize the local economy by utilizing Gangjin-gun’s cultural, natural, and historical resources.
Those eligible for support are travel agencies registered in the travel business under the Tourism Promotion Act, and will support a portion of travel costs when using Gangjin-gun tourist attractions, restaurants, and lodging facilities.
For a day trip, 12,000 won per person is provided if you use 3 tourist attractions, including 1 paid tourist attraction, and at least 1 restaurant. For an overnight tour, you can use 4 tourist attractions, including 2 paid tourist attractions, and 2 or more restaurants. If you use , you will receive support of 27,000 won per person.
Travel agencies wishing to receive incentive support must submit a pre-plan and tour itinerary at least 3 days prior to the trip, and submit the incentive payment application form and original supporting documents such as receipts within 15 days after the end of the trip to receive support funds after review.
A Gyeongsang-do traveler who visited Gangjin said, “Thanks to Gangjin-gun’s incentive policy, I was able to enjoy a meaningful trip without burden, and my family fully felt the charm of Gangjin.” He added, “I will definitely come back again next time after experiencing Gangjin’s beautiful nature and deep history firsthand.” “I want to,” he said.
Gangjin County Governor Kang Jin-won said, “Gangjin is a city like a treasure where nature, culture, and history come together. “Through this incentive policy, we have prepared various support measures to help more tourists visit Gangjin,” he said, adding, “We will create a virtuous cycle where attracting tourists leads to revitalization of the local economy.”
Gangjin-gun achieved the result of attracting 2.82 million tourists, with an 18% increase in the number of tourists compared to last year, through unconventional tourism policies such as half-price Gangjin tours and travel agency incentives.
“The relaxation I felt during my stay, the honest stories I shared with the lady, and the cozy feeling became precious memories that cannot be felt on any other trip.”
“The warm night in Puso and the smile of the friendly lady will remain in my heart for a long time and will be cherished as an unforgettable and precious memory.”
This is a review from a visitor who experienced Gangjin Puso. In this way, Puso has established itself as a representative brand of Gangjin tourism and is proving the value of residential lifestyle tourism.
Puso is an abbreviation for Feeling-Up, Stress-Off, which means raising emotions and relieving stress. Puso, which started in 2015, has been visited by more than 70,000 visitors over the past 10 years, generating about 7 billion won in farm income and establishing itself as Gangjin-gun’s representative tourism model.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Puso in 2025, Gangjin-gun is planning various projects to further revitalize stay-type tourism centered on the Puso experience and to allow travelers to enjoy Gangjin tourism and purchase local specialties in conjunction with Gangjin half-price tours.
First, we will expand ‘Puso Season 2’, a key project of the 8th popular election. ‘Puso Season 2’ is a project that supports returning to Gangjin-gun and growing into a Puso operation farm, and a budget of 500 million won has been secured in 2025, including new housing construction and remodeling and household equipment support.
In addition, we plan to expand residential tourism by developing various programs such as Puso Ecological Exploration Team, Global Student Puso, Choncance, and Returning to Puso (Homecoming).
For farms operating Puso, we are strengthening the capabilities of existing farms to improve service quality, while also promoting future-oriented projects to increase the sustainability of Puso, such as continuously recruiting and training new operating farms.
Gangjin-gun Governor Kang Jin-won said, “We will increase the living population by revitalizing residential tourism, overcome the crisis of regional extinction, and increase regional vitality.” He added, “Through Puso, we will expand and strengthen the Puso experience to make Gangjin a place where people’s laughter never ceases in the quiet rural areas.” “We will actively support,” he said.
